The remuneration and terms and conditions of employment of general practice registrars are defined in the National Terms and Conditions for the Employment of Registrars (NTCER), negotiated by General Practice Supervisors Australia (GPSA) and General Practice Registrars Australia (GPRA). What is the relationship between the NTCER and my employment contract? An important part of your training takes place in practice, with a superior conducting educational activities and discussions that reflect your needs. You should develop, in consultation with your superiors (and medical educators), a practical, relevant and individualized learning program. It is recommended to do this early in each six-month semester with a digital learning plan. Remuneration in general practice varies according to the cost structure of the practice and the value that the family physician brings to the practice, financially and not financially, with cost structures also varying according to the obligations of the practice. Our training team conducts an assessment of the hospital experience to determine if you are considered practical and informs you of the result. The NTCER is not a registered reward. Your signed employment contract is the legal document under which you are employed. The current NTCER agreement applies to the current training year and replaces the previous NTCER agreement. The NTCER is negotiated between GPRA and General Practice Supervisors Australia (GPSA).
For the GPT1/PRRT1 Registrar, it is recommended to spend at least the first day in general practice (preferably more) orienting, participating in supervisor consultations and receiving the first formal teaching session. You will likely need time with the practice manager to ensure that the paperwork (e.g.B. prescriber number and insurance) is complete. Please note that teaching is part of your “regular schedule” and paid employment (Registrar`s National Terms and Conditions of Employment – GPRA).
