Oecta Durham Elementary Collective Agreement
DCDSB is committed to providing updates on the status of the collective bargaining process. Below is an overview of the different bargaining units. We will continue to share information on this site as it becomes available. While negotiations have continued over the past few days, no agreement has been reached between the Ontario English Catholic Teachers` Association (OECTA), the Government of Ontario and the Ontario School Trustees Association. 15 DCDSB – OECDTa Durham Elementary Teachers Unit Page 11 ARTICLE 5 PROFESSIONAL IMPROVEMENT (continued d) 5:01 (2) Conditions (continued d) (c) Refund must be made for courses taken during the same period as (b) above. (d) Each school year, the maximum reimbursement is $195 or $250 for all courses prescribed by the Board. (e) The refund request must be submitted within 120 days from the end of the course. 5:02 Joint Committee for Professional Development of the Bureau The Joint Committee for Professional Development shall be established as soon as possible after the ratification of this collective agreement. It will be composed of three (3) representatives appointed by the Executive Board and three (3) representatives appointed by the OECD Bargaining Unit of the OECD.
Other appropriate resources may be designated by mutual agreement. The Committee shall meet on the basis of an agreement between the Parties, but not less than once every semester during the school year. The mission of the Joint Professional Development Committee is to provide advice on professional learning and activities for teachers during the activity days corresponding to the learning objectives defined in the teachers` annual learning programmes; Find out about the dates to be expected for reporting; Identify the dates for all days of professional activity and recommend this data to the school calendar committee of the office; promoting and monitoring the implementation of best practices that support a successful Catholic professional learning community; Guidance and guidance in the allocation of resources generated by the Students` Foundation scholarships in , in accordance with the PDT, to improve the professional development opportunities of primary school teachers. As a Catholic school authority, we respect the collective bargaining process and hope that agreements will be reached between all parties. Labour negotiations between workers` unions at the Durham Catholic District Council (DCDSB) are ongoing across Ontario. While the Board of Directors is not directly involved in central negotiations at the provincial level, we know that the parties are working diligently to obtain collective agreements. The following information contains updates on possible employment measures in the different negotiating groups. As a result, as of Monday, October 7, 2019, all of our schools will be closed to students in elementary, secondary and continuing education institutions, unless a new central agreement can be reached between CUPE, the Government of Ontario and the trust associations by then.
