This series was shot during the world-famous Fiesta de la Candelaria in Puno. The festival is held each February in honor of the Virgin of Candelaria, patron saint of the city. It is said to be among the three largest festivals in South America, along with the Carnival in Rio and the Carnaval in Oruro. Puno is located in the southeastern part of Perú on the shore of Lake Titicaca, only a short drive from the border to Bolivia.
