On my very last day in Gothenburg, I took another trip to the Southern Gothenburg Archipelago. This time, the ferry brought me to a car-free island called Styrsö, which is home to about 1500 folks. Most of them seem to own a «flakmoped» – a three-wheeled moped, usually built (or modified rather) on that island, the number one vehicle on there. By the way, I passed another island called «Köpstadsö» with the ferry – its 100 inhabitants’ (it’s 300 in summer) prime means of transport is the wheelbarrow: they are lined up at the harbor for people to bring stuff to and from the ferries. Anyways, Styrsö has some beautiful beaches, views, houses and spots in the forest – and a nice café near the harbor too. Here’s a tiny bit of it.
