This was the first longer trip for Seraina and myself after the pandemic. We had planned it for quite a while, but due to possible changes due to the virus and because of visa issue, we literally didn’t know if we could take the trip until the day we left. Costa Rica and Panama had both been on our list both for the nature and beaches as well as for coffee. Before arriving in these countries, however, we spent some time in cold New York City. Morocco

Morocco

This was the first time I visited Morocco and it was pretty much the first time for me in Africa (besides a trip to Tunisia as a little child). We spent a full week in Marrakech and one day in Essaouira by the coast. The food was excellent (and plates always too big – or too many), the city was beautiful and a little chaotic. We stayed at Riad 42, which was absolutely lovely – the rooms, the rooftop and the whole space was beautiful, the staff super nice and helpful and the breakfast (and dinner) they make was delicious. We would love to go back anytime.

Marseille & Lyon

Marseille & Lyon

Marseille was a first in our adult lives. We had wanted to go for some time but for some reason, it had never been at the top of our lists. When the pandemic dictated us not to fly a whole lot, we finally took the trip. And we weren’t disappointed. The city’s architecture, its harbor, and «La Cité Radieuse» by the Swiss-French architect Corbusier were well worth the trip, not to mention the abundance of great restaurants, wine bars and discovering some new specialty coffee shops.
