Gothenburg – Part 8: Småland

After my studies in Gothenburg, I went on a trip with a few of my non-Swedish Sweden friends. We were lucky enough to stay for free in a lovely cabin in the woods for a week (actually it was a rather big house with two floors, sauna, a spacious garden with a shed and much more situated right next to a nice little pond). The cabin was situated beautifully in the midst of idyllic Småland, the region which is home to «Pippi Långstrump» («Pippi Longstocking»).

Gothenburg – Part 7: Styrsö

On my very last day in Gothenburg, I took another trip to the Southern Gothenburg Archipelago. This time, the ferry brought me to a car-free island called Styrsö, which is home to about 1500 folks. Most of them seem to own a «flakmoped» – a three-wheeled moped, usually built (or modified rather) on that island, the number one vehicle on there. By the way, I passed another island called «Köpstadsö» with the ferry – its 100 inhabitants’ (it’s 300 in summer) prime means of transport is the wheelbarrow.
