Colombia – Part 3: Cali & Desierto de la Tatacoa

Colombia – Part 3: Cali & Desierto de la Tatacoa

The minibus from Salento to Armenia cost 3’800 COP, but we didn’t have to pay this time – he sort of forgot us after handing us the ticket. From Armenia to Cali, we sat in a minibus (20’000 COP) for 3-4 annoying hours (since we stopped so many times for people to get in or out). We stayed in El Viajero Hostel, which was quite a cool place to stay with a nice atmosphere and a great outside area with bar right next to the pool.

Colombia – Part 2: Medellín, Guatapé & Salento

Colombia – Part 2: Medellín, Guatapé & Salento

We took a direct bus (Expreso Brasilia, 86’000 COP – literally the last money in our pockets) from Tolú to Medellín. The bus ride was alright, just way too cold (as usual). In Medellín, we had troubles finding a hostel (they were all fully booked because of the Feria de las Flores) and ended up staying in a hotel for 235’000 COP (2 persons) the first night.

Colombia – Part 1: Caribbean Coast

Colombia – Part 1: Caribbean Coast

It’s definitely time for some new photos, it’s been (very busy) months since my last post. There we go, with the first part of this summer’s Colombia trip.
I arrived in Cartagena after a long trip via Luxembourg (train from Bern, modern & clean HI hostel, modern airport with free unlimited Wi-Fi), London Heathrow (stopover with 45mins of free Wi-Fi) and New York City (40$ AirBnB room in Jamaica, Queens). From Heathrow to JFK, I was in a huge and modern Boeing 777-300 with good food, service and entertainment system (and expensive Wi-Fi).

Dublin & Belfast

Dublin & Belfast

So here’s a bunch of pictures I took in late May / beginning of June in Dublin and around. Trinitiy College above, beautiful city streets of Dublin below. I visited my brother in Dublin and we took a 2-day trip to Belfast, so I felt like I had to add at least two pictures from there: Belfast Murals.

Nice

Nice

We took a trip to Nice in Southern Franca over the Easter weekend to enjoy a litte sun and the beach. The sun didn't come out too often and the beach was closed for some kind of renovation on the first day. The (really expensive) city of Nice has a nice (haha) small oldtown and a beautiful harbor.

New York City

New York City

Finally back to New York! I only stayed for less than a week, temperatures were freezing, I did not take all that many photos, but it was still great to be back. And I'm looking forward to the next time. The only warm day was the one before my flight back, it was around 13°/55° and the sun was shining. The next day, it was snowing heavily. My flight was delayed for four hours and the gate was changed three or four times. After changing to a rebooked plane in Berlin, my bag did not arrive in Zurich with me.

Sarek National Park

Sarek National Park

There we go, a short timelapse video, trying to show a tiny bit of Sweden's endless beauty. The shots were taken mainly in Sarek National Park, but at some other locations too. We took a four-day trip to Sarek National Park in the far north of Sweden, walked about 100 km within a 72 hour timespan, and hence were able to see what's likely to be the most beautiful views we've ever seen.

Sweden Road Trip

Sweden Road Trip

Our trip led us from Switzerland, through Germany and up to Sweden by ferry. We stayed near Jönköping on a camping site in one of the first nights in Sweden. The night sky was beautifully filled with countless stars. Travelling further north, we passed Stockholm, Uppsala and Motala, where we could enjoy a great view (sunset included, of course) over Lake Vättern from our hostel room balcony. Stockholm and Gothenburg are Sweden's largest cities, still they're pretty quiet, compared to most other cities in the world. After almost five months, I have finally taken some time to finish editing and now uploading these pictures. There were just too many other things on my schedule, hence my personal projects had to suffer.. or let's say wait in […]
